Under an Indemnity plan, you are authorized to see whichever doctors or specialists you like, without a referral required. You may choose to get the majority of your basic care from a single doctor, but your insurance company will not require you to “choose” a primary care physician. An Indemnity plan can also require that you pay up front for the services and then you will have to submit a claim to the insurance company for reimbursement.
